TEHRAN, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) - - Iranians assembled on Tuesday the nation over to recall previous leader Qassem Soleimani who was killed by the US in January 2020.

During a service denoting the third commemoration of Soleimani's death in the capital Tehran, the groups waved Iranian banners and recited enemy of American trademarks.

 "We have not neglected and won't disregard avenging the top authority's blood," Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi told the groups, portraying Soleimani as the image of the battle against persecution and worldwide presumption.

 "We won't let killers and those behind the wrongdoing rest easily," Raisi promised.

Comparative functions were likewise held in the urban areas of Esfahan, Yazd and Soleimani's old neighborhood Kerman.

On Jan. 3, 2020, the U.S. military killed Soleimani and the delegate leader of Iraq's paramilitary Hashd Shaabi powers Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis in a robot strike close to the Baghdad Global Air terminal in Iraq. 

The death was denounced by Iran as a demonstration of "state psychological oppression."
