The Premier League is known for its unpredictability and surprises, but some results in the league's history have truly shocked the football world.

One such result came in May 2011, when Manchester United were beaten by newly-promoted Blackpool at Old Trafford.

The Seasiders, who were fighting for survival at the bottom of the table, pulled off a stunning 4-3 victory over the reigning champions, who were on course to win the title that season.

Another shock result came in August 2014, when Aston Villa defeated reigning champions Manchester City 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium.

The Villans, who were tipped for a relegation battle that season, produced a remarkable performance to come from behind and secure a famous victory over the Citizens.

In 2016, Leicester City won the premier league, they were 5000-1 odds to win the league at the start of the season and their achievement is considered one of the greatest shocks in sports history.

Another shocker came in August 2017, when newly-promoted Huddersfield Town defeated Manchester United 2-1 at the John Smith's Stadium.

The Terriers, who had only just come up from the Championship, produced a stunning performance to secure a historic victory over the Red Devils.

In December 2018, Crystal Palace defeated Manchester City 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium, City were on a 18 games winning streak and were considered the best team in the world at that time but Palace secured an unlikely victory.

Another shocker came in January 2021, when West Bromwich Albion defeated Liverpool 1-2 at Anfield.
